Top musicians from around the world to be featured throughout Armenia Music Festival
The 6th Armenia International Music Festival will kick off on 3 September to run until 8 October. The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC), in partnership with the Armenian Ministry of Economy, have once again joined to offer classical music lovers a performance by distinguished musicians and an abundant programme, the orchestra said in a statement on Monday.
The festival includes 7 symphonic concert evenings. The first concert will be held on September 3, thus, giving the commencement of the new concert season of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. During the evening the worldwide acclaimed cellist Gautier Capuçon will perform.
The Armenia Festival will host numerous outstanding musicians: violinists Giuseppe Gibboni and Sergei Krylov, flutist Jasmine Choi, pianist Federico Colli, cellist Mischa Maisky. The Armenian audience will also have the opportunity to enjoy violinist Gil Shaham and tenor Joseph Calleja, who achieved the world's greatest scenes. The concerts will be conducted by Sergey Smbatyan, Artistic Director of the Armenia Festival, Daniel Raiskin, Finnegan Downie Dear, Hansjörg Schellenberger. The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra is the official orchestra of the festival.
During this joyous music celebration, there will be presenting the works of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Alexander Borodin, Camille Saint-Saëns, Niccolò Paganini, Antonio Vivaldi, Antonin Dvorak, Claude Debussy, Giuseppe Verdi, Alexey Shor and other composers. The works of Armenian musicians will also be featured in the festival’s programme.
The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, faithful to its mission, gives the audience the opportunity to get acquainted with amazing interpretations of the outstanding works of the classical music repertoire through festivals. The festival is teaming up the best musicians of our own time, many of whom are performing in Armenia for the first time.
