Former Artsakh army chief reportedly arrested
A former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army and a chief advisor to the country’s president has been arrested, 168.am said on Tuesday, citing its sources.
Lieutenant-General Mikayel Arzumanyan was dismissed as Artsakh army chief on September 11, 2021. He took up the post during the 44-day war in October 2020, replacing Jalal Harutyunyan who had been injured.
“No other details were available,” the news website said of the reported arrest.
After his dismissal as the Defense Army commander, Arzumanyan was installed as chief advisor to the Artsakh president.
