Lawyer: Transfer of state universities will lead to lower status for YSU
The transfer of state universities, among many other issues, will inevitably lead to the further subordination of state universities, including Yerevan State University (YSU), to American, Slovenian, French and other universities, YSU lecturer and Doctor of Law Gevorg Danielyan said on Facebook on Thursday.
Nikol Pashinyan told a cabinet meeting today that up to eight state universities should operate in Armenia and they should be located in Ashtarak.
"Artificial distortion of competition is a negative phenomenon in itself, especially in the light of evident emigration trends. On the contrary, serious state support, including financial assistance, is needed to strengthen state universities," he said.
