Heatwave to persist in Armenia
The heatwave will persist in Armenia in the next three days with temperatures of 40C expected to hit some parts of the country, including the capital Yerevan, Ararat valley, foothills of Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor Provinces.
Wildfire risks remain high in the country’s valleys and foothills, the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reports.
No rain is predicted across Armenia from September 1-4. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast in some parts for September 5-6.
The southwestern wind speed is 2-5 m/s. Strong winds of up to 18 m/s are expected during thunderstorms.
