Heatwave still roasting Armenia
The heatwave is persisting in Armenia with temperatures of 38-40C expected in some parts of the country, including the capital Yerevan, Ararat valley, foothills of Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor Provinces, on September 2-4.
Wildfire risks remain high in the country’s valleys and foothills, the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reports.
No rain is predicted in Armenia’s regions from September 2 to 4. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for September 5-7.
The southwestern wind speed is 2-5 m/s. Strong winds of up to 18 m/s are expected during thunderstorms.
