Cher accidentally calls Queen Elizabeth a cow in her tribute post
Cher has been left wondering if she can ‘turn back time’ after she posted a tribute to the Queen and accidentally referred to the royal as a cow instead of the GOAT, which is an acronym that stands for the 'greatest of all time', Daily Mail reports.
The pop star, 76, shared a touching message to Twitter honoring Queen Elizabeth II following the announcement that the Monarch had passed away 'peacefully' in her sleep on Thursday with her family by her side.
However, the tweet left some users scratching their heads after at Cher's choice of emoji.
'Am sad about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II,' she wrote. 'I had honor of meeting her. I was in long line of people waiting to meet her.
'Yet when she got to me, she asked me pertinent questions and seemed genuinely interested in talking to me.
I'm proud. She was a [cow emoji] and happy she had a great sense of humor.'
Cher's use of the cow emoji sent Twitter into a spin, and many users were left wondering what the singer meant by it.
While the Believe songstress has not clarified the meaning behind the emoji, her four million followers have guessed that it was likely either a reference to the Queen's star sign – Taurus - or that it was an accident and meant to be a different emoji.
Some believe that she wanted to use a goat, representing the phrase used to describe someone who is the greatest of all time.
The post quickly exploded, getting more than one thousand retweets and nearly 20,000 likes, and it left many people on the web in shambles - who quickly turned it into a joke and started sharing memes.
