Ex-ombudsman: Azerbaijan expands geography of shelling in Armenia
Azerbaijani troops have expanded the geography of shelling in Armenia, former Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Arman Tatoyan claims.
“New facts confirm that the Azerbaijani military has today expanded the geography of shelling and war crimes in the direction of civilian communities of Armenia,” he wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
“In Gegharkunik Province, in addition to Sotk, Verin Shorzha, Norabak and Kut, the areas of Azat, Ayrk, Tretuk, Kutakan villages are also being targeted."
The Azerbaijani shelling targeted residential houses and livestock farms, damaging or destroying cars in Sotk, Norabak, Kutakan, Kut and Ayrk.
“Azerbaijani forces have intentionally caused significant damage particularly to residents who were forced to leave their homes and left their cattle under shelling and attacks. This will put people in front of serious social problems, depriving them of livelihood and the possibility of earning family income,” Tatoyan said.
