Geopolitical change in region unacceptable, says Iranian FM
Outgoing Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan on Wednesday held a farewell meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The Iranian minister thanked the Russian envoy for his efforts during his mission in Tehran and emphasized the role of ambassadors in expanding bilateral ties between the countries, IRNA reported.
Amir-Abdollahian called for the finalization of the Iran-Russia long-term cooperation agreement. Referring to the recent Armenia-Azerbaijan border crisis, he emphasized political settlement of disputes.
He also stressed the need for restoring peace in the region, stating that any geopolitical change in the region is a red line and unacceptable for Iran.
