Access to Jermuk town highly restricted for safety precautions – Armenpress
Access to the town of Jermuk in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province is now highly restricted for safety precautions, Deputy Mayor Vardan Sargsyan told Armenpress on Wednesday.
There is no panic among the residents, the situation is stable but there is some tension, he said.
“The municipal authorities did not organize evacuation, those who wanted to leave have left on their own, and those who wanted to stay, stayed and are here, living, struggling. We have bomb shelters in the town,” he said.
Schools and kindergartens are closed. The medical facility is actively operating, the deputy mayor said.
Azerbaijan’s latest bombardments are targeting both military and civilian infrastructure in the direction of Jermuk and Verin Shorzha. Border settlements are being shelled.
