Armenian military reports 'extremely tense' border situation
The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was “extremely tense” again as of Wednesday afternoon, the Defense Ministry of Armenia said in a statement.
“Starting 1pm, the Azerbaijani military renewed massive rocket and artillery strikes along the border from Sotk to Goris, targeting also civilian settlements and widely using combat drones,” the ministry said.
Vehicles of the Russian Federal Security Service carrying out humanitarian mission in the zone of combat operations have also come under Azeri attacks.
“This is further indication that Azerbaijani forces do not distinguish between targets. In parallel to the rocket and artillery strikes, the Azerbaijani military has also renewed attempts to advance [into Armenian territory],” reads the statement.
The Armenian army is taking all necessary measures to adequately respond to the enemy attacks.
