
Armenia’s new chief prosecutor swears in
Armenia's new Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan took the oath of office at a parliament sitting on Thursday.
64 MPs, all from the ruling Civil Contract party, attended the sitting.
The parliament majority began debating issues on the agenda without referring to the latest developments on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
Vardapetyan was nominated to the post by the Civil Contract faction. Previously she served as assistant to the prime minister.
She was elected to the post by a vote of 70 in favor.
