135 Armenian soldiers killed in Azerbaijani attacks, Pashinyan says
135 Armenian troops have been killed in Azerbaijani attacks this week, Nikol Pashinyan told a cabinet meeting on Friday, adding the death toll is likely to rise.
He asked the cabinet members to hold a minute's silence in memory of the fallen servicemen.
“Unfortunately, this is not the final figure, we have a large number of wounded soldiers,” the Armenian PM said.
Defense Minister Suren Papikyan said the ceasefire agreed between Yerevan and Baku late on Wednesday was largely holding on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border overnight.
Pashinyan reiterated Armenia’s demand that Azerbaijani forces withdraw from the sovereign territory of Armenia, including from the areas occupied by them in May 2021.
