Female Armenian soldiers hailed for 'outstanding courage' while repelling Azeri attacks
Female Armenian soldiers and militia women were lauded for “outstanding courage and indomitable spirit” while repelling Azerbaijani attacks last week.
Susanna Grigoryan, Anush Apetyan, Alisa Melkonyan, Irina Gasparyan and others fought back against outnumbering Azeri forces that started massive attacks on Armenia early on September 13, inflicting heavy losses on them, Defense Ministry spokesman Aram Torosyan said on Sunday.
“Fulfilling the sacred mission of defending the border section of the homeland entrusted to them, they showed outstanding courage and determination, repelling the incessant attacks by the outnumbering enemy troops and inflicting heavy losses on them, thus continuing the centuries-old tradition of our glorious female fighters,” he wrote on Facebook.
