25,000 Armenian children’s right to education violated due to Azeri attacks, official says
The right to education of 25,000 school students in Armenia’s Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik Provinces has been violated as a result of Azerbaijan’s latest attacks on Armenia, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said on Monday.
“The military aggression launched by Azerbaijan on September 13 caused serious security issues in some settlements of Syunik, Vayots Dzor and Gegharkunik Provinces, depriving children of the opportunity to attend schools and exercise their right to education,” she told a news conference in Yerevan.
More than 6,000 preschoolers’ right to education was also violated due to the Azerbaijani aggression last week, the official said.
The deputy minister said schools in some border settlements reopened on Monday, while others continue to apply online learning due to security concerns.
