Artur Vanetsyan issues Independence Day message
The leader of the opposition Homeland Party, Artur Vanetsyan, issued a message on Armenia’s Independence Day celebrated on September 21. His full message is below.
"Dear compatriots, brothers and sisters,
Today is a momentous day for the Republic of Armenia and our nation – Armenian Independence Day.
Naturally, in the light of the major challenges and threats facing our country and nation, there is and can be no festive mood.
Our primary concern now is the defense of the homeland from the enemy that have invaded and occupied our country and the current authorities who have undermined our state institutions as a result of their unprofessional conduct.
Thus, paying respects to the sacred memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for our country's independence, we must take a vow today to drive the enemy out of our homeland and start building the strong and secure Armenia that we and our ancestors dreamed of.
And we will certainly celebrate the holiday after achieving our goals.”
