Jermuk, a spa town in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province, was one of the worst-hit Armenian settlements by last week’s Azerbaijani shelling.
Azerbaijani troops attacked both Armenian combat positions and civilian settlements near Jermuk, also using UAVs.
At a news conference on Saturday, the chief of the Armenian army’s General Staff, Edvard Asryan, said Azerbaijani forces had advanced 7.5 kilometers into Armenian territory, being positioned 4.5 km away from the town.
In a statement on Monday, the Security Council of Armenia said that the number of those killed or missing in Azerbaijan’s massive attack reached 207.
