Parents of fallen soldiers remove wreaths laid by Pashinyan, other officials in Yerablur
Nikol Pashinyan and several other senior officials visited the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan on the 31st anniversary of Armenia’s independence after the parents of fallen soldiers were forcefully taken away by riot police.
The families of the Armenian servicemen killed in the 2020 Artsakh war gathered at Yerablur to prevent Pashinyan and other officials from entering the military cemetery on the Independence Day. Police officers forcefully detained the parents, taking them to the Nor Nork and Kentron departments.
The Armenian government's press office reported that Pashinyan laid flowers on the graves of Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan and Andranik Ozanyan and a wreath at the memorial to Armenians who sacrificed their lives for the homeland.
After they left Yerablur, the angry parents threw away the wreaths laid by Pashinyan and other officials.
