Measures to reinforce frontline inadequate, opposition MP says
MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction accused the Armenian authorities of taking insufficient measures to reinforce the frontline and replenish the military following Azerbaijan’s latest attacks.
The lawmaker said he visited a number of border sections during the Azerbaijani aggression and after it.
“In case of aggression, hostilities or war, the mobilization process must be carried out with pinpoint accuracy. The approach adopted by the authorities will not only secure a dramatic increase in the military capacity, but will also put the existing one at risk,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
“I would not like to go into details at this point amid the imminent threat of renewed war, but for me it is now clear that the authorities are not taking adequate measures to reinforce the frontline, replenish the necessary resources and prepare for possible developments.
“Even in areas where something is being done, the action either does not serve its purpose or does not fully solve the problems. This situation naturally complicates the performance of combat tasks assigned to the troops and further increases the heavy workload of our troops,” the MP said.
