Armenian judicial watchdog dismisses judge Alexander Azaryan
The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), a state body overseeing Armenian courts, has formally dismissed judge Alexander Azaryan of the Court of Criminal Appeals.
The judge was relieved of his duties on Thursday three days after tendering his resignation, according to a decision by the judicial watchdog.
“The Supreme Judicial Council has decided to dismiss Alexander Azaryan as a judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals starting from September 22,” reads the decision signed by caretaker SJC head Sergey Chichoyan.
