Armenia reports fresh provocation by Azeri troops
Azerbaijani forces resorted to fresh provocation, attempting to advance into the rear of an Armenian border position on Friday evening, the Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
“On September 23, at around 7:30pm, one of the Azerbaijani army units resorted to provocation, attempting to infiltrate into the rear of an Armenian combat position in the eastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,” the ministry said.
The Azeri troops were pushed back to their initial positions due to the skillful actions of the Armenian military.
No casualties were reported on the Armenian side.
“No other border incidents were recorded overnight. As of 10am September 24, the situation on the border is relatively stable,” the statement said.
