Political analyst says Armenia can also buy weapons from Iran
Political analyst Suren Sargsyan suggests that Armenia can also purchase weapons from Iran.
“Incidentally, almost identical sanctions have been imposed on Russia and Iran. In other words, by and large, we can now buy weapons from Iran, too, as we avoided being hit by sanctions before,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
Addressing the parliament on September 13, Nikol Pashinyan stated that "not all countries are ready to sell arms to Armenia”.
“Naturally not all countries are ready to sell weapons to Armenia, but there are countries that are ready. Also, there are countries that aren’t ready for the fact that Armenia can buy weapons from the country which is willing to sell them,” he said.
“But this willingness or unwillingness has consequences, including security impacts. That is, weapons are usually purchased in order to handle security threats, but there are situations where it is the purchase of weapons that is fraught with new security threats,” Pashinyan added.
