Azerbaijanis sent photo, video of killed Armenian soldier to his wife – Tatoyan Foundation
Azerbaijani troops have sent a photo and a video of a killed Armenian soldier to his wife via WhatsApp, also adding them to the WhatsApp Status, the foundation established by Armenia’s former Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan said in a statement on Monday.
“During the war launched by Azerbaijan against Armenia from September 13 to 15, 2022, Azerbaijani forces caused mental suffering to the families of killed Armenian servicemen, apart from physical sufferings,” the Law and Justice Center Tatoyan Foundation said.
“The Tatoyan Foundation obtained evidence confirming that the Azerbaijani servicemen killed an Armenian soldier, then took his photo and filmed a video, sending them to his wife via WhatsApp. They also set the video and the photo as a WhatsApp story. In the video they sent, there are also other Armenian servicemen who were killed in a group,” the statement said.
The mentioned objective evidence will be given the necessary legal verification by the foundation, it said, adding the criminal act confirms the Azerbaijani soldiers’ intention to cause mental suffering to the families of victims and Armenian society and play on their feelings.
“Similar cases were also recorded during the 2016 April war and the 2020 44-day war. The approach has not changed; these crimes have become chronic, because atrocities are encouraged by the Azerbaijani authorities, and those who commit them go unpunished.
“This evidence will be properly verified and sent to international partners. The perpetrators of these crimes must be held to account,” the Tatoyan Foundation said.
