Armenian MP calls for more active int'l efforts to prevent new Azeri aggression
Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan calls for more active international efforts to prevent new Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, the lawmaker from the Pativ Unem bloc hailed the statements of the international community condemning the Azerbaijani attacks on Armenia as well as the calls for Baku to pull out its forces from Armenia’s sovereign territory as a tool to put pressure on Azerbaijan.
“However, Azerbaijan’s policy of fortifying its border posts, aggressive conduct and ambitions indicate that Azerbaijan not only has no plans to withdraw its troops, but also is ready to advance further in case of favorable settings,” Abrahamyan said.
“If the international community and actors really want to prevent new Azerbaijani aggression, they should take more tangible steps, otherwise renewed hostilities are inevitable,” he stated.
