Mother See denies rumors of meeting between Pashinyan and Karekin II
The spokesman of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin denies rumors of a meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Catholicos Karekin II.
Meanwhile, Fr. Yesayi Artenyan has revealed that the supreme head of the Armenian Apostolic Church plans to host a new meeting between the former Armenian and Artsakh presidents.
“The Catholicos of All Armenians has recently held separate meetings with the former presidents of Armenia and Artsakh as part of the preparations for their next meeting,” he said in a statement on Friday.
"We confirm that a meeting was held with the first president of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, on Thursday. The reports concerning the content of the private conversation as well as a meeting with the prime minister are false. We believe that all this is aimed at disrupting the discussions," the statement said.
Catholicos Karekin II and the former presidents first met on September 22 to discuss the security challenges facing Armenia.
