Diplomat provides clarifications to Armenian MFA over incident at Queen's farewell ceremony
Armenian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Varuzhan Nersesyan has given clarifications to the Armenian Foreign Ministry over the incident involving President Vahagn Khachaturyan at the farewell ceremony for Queen Elizabeth II last month.
"The Ambassador provided clarifications to the Armenian Foreign Ministry over the incident, which was taken note of," the ministry said in response to a Panorama.am query on Wednesday.
British tabloids rebuked President Vahagn Khachaturyan after the Armenian diplomat snapped a photo of him posing in front of Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin at Westminster Hall on 18 September.
They broke strict rules inside the 1,000-year-old chamber which forbid the use of any cameras.
