MP Tigran Abrahamyan reacts to Artsakh Security Council statement
MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction has reacted to the statement released by Artsakh’s Security Council on Tuesday in response to the claims of the Armenian leadership on the Artsakh issue.
In a public post on Facebook on Wednesday, the lawmaker outlined some subtexts and hints in the lengthy statement.
1. The statement says the remarks of the Armenian authorities on Artsakh are controversial.
2. It reminds the Armenian authorities of the exercise of Artsakh's right to self-determination and a return to the roots of its international recognition.
3. It notes that the anti-Russian policy pursued by the authorities is extremely dangerous.
4. It underscores that the ongoing process on the Artsakh issue has gone beyond the established principles and logic.
5. The statement says that despite regular consultations between the authorities of Artsakh and Armenia on the Artsakh issue, the approaches are not always coherent as there are issues which the Artsakh president disagrees on.
Incidentally, the Artsakh leadership should speak openly on the differences in approaches.
6. The statement underlines that in the past, before the Pashinyan regime took power, the Artsakh peace process was on the right track, with the mobilization of the resources of all Armenians.
7. Regardless of the Armenian authorities’ claims, it states that the national values and interests of all Armenians suppose that no matter what, Mother Armenia must always stand with Artsakh in all matters, especially in guaranteeing the security of the Artsakh people and the international recognition of its right to self-determination, which the Armenian leaders avoid at all costs.
8. It says that until the Republic of Artsakh is fully involved in the conflict settlement process, the authorities of the Republic of Armenia must not shun responsibility and must continue to represent and defend the interests of Artsakh and Artsakh Armenians in the international arena,” Abrahamyan wrote.
