RPA deputy head: Pashinyan 'flushed down the tubes' all efforts towards Karabakh settlement
Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Armen Ashotyan accused Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of “deliberately” mishandling the Nagorno-Karabakh peace talks and “shattering” the foundations of negotiations.
In a live video on Facebook on Wednesday, the former senior MP also blamed Pashinyan for the silence of the international community after Azerbaijan waged a war in Artsakh in 2020.
“You have done everything possible for Azerbaijan to appear pure and honest in the eyes of the international community after it launched the 44-day war," Ashotyan said
“That's why during the war not a single international organization or a major country stood with Armenia, the Armenian people and Artsakh, although everyone knew that Azerbaijan was guilty and Turkey had its back. Everybody knew that mercenaries had been recruited from the Middle East, that Azerbaijan shelled hospitals and churches, they all knew about the use of phosphorous munitions by Azerbaijan, as well as torture inflicted on prisoners of war and mutilation of the killed Armenian soldiers’ bodies,” the politician stressed, responding to Pashinyan’s remarks in the parliament earlier in the day.
"Everyone knew, but no one stood with the Armenian people, because Nikol Pashinyan flushed all efforts to resolve the issue through negotiations down the toilet. He did it because he naively or traitorously thought that democracy was the most powerful air defense, missile or tank," Ashotyan noted.
