Yerevan shopping center shut down due to violations of fire safety rules
Yerevan’s Petak shopping center has been shut down due to breaches of fire safety norms.
The Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspectorate said in a statement on Friday it had revealed over a dozen violations of safety rules at the market during an inspection in 2021.
It gave the trade center until 23 June, 2022 to comply with the fire safety rules. However, a recent inspection revealed that the Petak administration had not eliminated the violations.
The violations may pose direct threats to people’s safety, thus the inspection agency has decided to suspend the operations of the shopping center from October 7.
