Opposition MP: No serious problems can be solved without regime change in Armenia
Azerbaijan will keep tensions on the border with Armenia until it achieves all its goals, claims MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction.
"Even the Armenian authorities’ assurances about recognizing Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan will not stop Azerbaijan,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
“Azerbaijan sees an opportunity to achieve the “Azerbaijani dream” under the rule of the current Armenian leaders, and it’s not only about Artsakh, the "corridor" or the so-called "enclaves".
“The source of neutralizing or mitigating threats from Azerbaijan is within the country, because no serious problems can be resolved without the ouster of the current government,” the lawmaker said.
Abrahamyan believes the regime change would at least “give a chance” for the country to handle its grave security challenges.
“In that case, Armenia would at least have a chance, not to mention the fact that the hotbeds of internal and external confrontation inside the country are not quenched, and under a competent government, I see an opportunity to smash the faces of the Azerbaijanis,” the MP said.
