Young Armenian weightlifters to compete at European Championships
23 athletes have been selected to represent Armenia at the upcoming European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships, the National Olympic Committee reports.
This event will take place in Durres, Albania from 15-25 October.
Armenia’s U23 team includes Armen Grigoryan (73 kg), Karen Margaryan (81 kg), Vardan Manukyan (89 kg), Ara Aghanyan (96 kg), Yasha Minasyan (109 kg) and Varazdat Lalayan (+109 kg).
The junior team is made up of Garnik Cholakyan (55 kg), Seyran Khudinyan (55 kg), Rafik Minasyan (61 kg), Gor Sahakyan (67 kg), Mnatsakan Abrahamyan (81 kg), Suren Grigoryan (89 kg), Gevorg Ghahramanyan (89 kg), Garik Karapetyan (96 kg), Petros Petrosyan (102 kg) and Ashot Movsisyan (109 kg).
The female Armenian competitors are Milena Khachatryan (76 kg), Emma Poghosyan (81 kg), Liana Gyurjian (81 kg), Margarita Arakelyan (87 kg), Mary Tumasyan (87 kg), Julieta Avanesyan (+87 kg) and Luiza Sahradyan (87 kg, U23).
The first group led by U23 team head coach Vigen Khachatryan will travel to Albania on Friday.
