MP calls for 'straight talk' with Artsakh people to prepare them for worst-case scenarios
MP Tigran Abrahamyan of Armenia’s opposition Pativ Unem faction urges the Artsakh authorities to have a “straight talk” with the people to prepare them for worst-case scenarios.
"In addition to great external influence, Artsakh's fate largely depends on the correct assessment of the situation inside the country and appropriate measures,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
“If we leave the situation on its own, as it is the case now, we will have no chance for survival,” Abrahamyan said.
He stressed the need for sweeping changes in Artsakh’s governance, security, social and economic sectors.
“Most importantly, a straight talk with the Artsakh people is necessary inside the country for them to get ready for worst-case scenarios, understand what's going on in and around Artsakh and what they can expect,” the deputy noted.
“Despite the seemingly hopeless situation, there is still a chance for a breakthrough, but it requires hard work with the involvement of competent people and the mobilization of scarce resources,” he added.
