Pashinyan: Azerbaijan creating fake news on 'ceasefire violations' by Armenia
Azerbaijan is creating fake news on “ceasefire violations” by Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in a tweet on Tuesday, referring to a Defense Ministry statement that Azeri troops are staging "false flag" incidents as a pretext to open fire at Armenian border positions.
“The nighttime surveillance and analysis of the Azerbaijani military activity in the combat contact line, especially in the Sotk-Kutakan section, have revealed that the Azerbaijani army units violate the ceasefire by firing at each other and then at the Armenian positions,” the ministry said.
“Thus, Azerbaijan’s armed forces create an impression that the Armenian troops are firing at their outposts and then begin firing at the Armenian combat positions from different caliber firearms, as if in response to the fire opened by Armenian forces,” reads the statement.
