Richard Clayderman says 'happy' to be back in Yerevan
Acclaimed French pianist and composer Richard Clayderman is in Armenia for the third time. He is set to perform two live concerts at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan on October 20 and 21.
Speaking at a news conference in Yerevan on Wednesday, Clayderman said he was “happy” to be back in Yerevan.
The musician says the concert program is different from the previous one, adding improvisations can also be expected. No Armenian compositions will be performed during Clayderman’s Yerevan concerts.
“Tomorrow I will not be performing Armenian theme, but maybe I will listen some compositions from Armenia in the coming days to perform an Armenian music piece in my own style during my next visit,” Clayderman noted.
He said when starting his professional career as a child he did not have “specific gifts”, but practiced a lot.
“The advice I can give to youngsters is, of course, to love their instrument, practice a lot, keep on practicing to start a professional career,” the pianist said.
