Armenian weightlifter Suren Grigoryan crowned European champion
Armenian weightlifter Suren Grigoryan (89 kg) has captured a gold medal at the 2022 European Junior and U23 Weightlifting Championships in Durres, Albania, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reports.
The athlete lifted a total of 340 (155+185) kilograms to win the European title on Saturday, outcompeting his Turkish opponents Kurnaz Can and Kurnaz Hakan Sukru who took the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Earlier weightlifters Gor Sahakyan (67 kg) and Milena Khachatryan (76 kg) won gold, while Rafik Minasyan (61 kg) and Mnatsakan Abrahamyan (81 kg) earned bronze medals at the European Championships.
