Zatulin deplores decision to ban his entry into Armenia
Russian politician Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, has condemned Armenia’s “offensive” decision to impose an entry ban on him.
Speaking to Yerevan.Today on Tuesday, the politician said a letter from the Armenian parliament’s foreign relations office said his visits to Armenia were “undesirable”.
"It was unexpected for us, we received a letter from the head of the Foreign Relations Department of the National Assembly. I was told that my visits are deemed undesirable, as my statements are detrimental to Armenia," Zatulin noted.
Citing its sources, the Haykakan Zhamanak daily run by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's family reported earlier that Zatulin was declared “persona non grata” in Armenia and banned from entering the country.
