Minister: 6% of certified teachers get 50% pay rise in Armenia
66% of 2,300 public school teachers have passed the voluntary certification in Armenia this year, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan told a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
According to him, the total number of beneficiaries was 29,441. 3,886 teachers or 13% of the beneficiaries applied to participate in the attestation in 2022, but 60% of them took part in it.
“A total of 2/3 or 66% of teachers successfully passed the certification. Some 23% of teachers received a 30% pay increase, 17% – a 40% rise and 6% – a 50% rise," Dumanyan said.
He said those participants who cleared the 60% threshold but could not pass the 70% threshold are considered certified, but will not receive pay rises.
