Armenian tombstone found in Turkey's Trabzon
An Armenian marble headstone has been found during the water pipeline maintenance in the Turkish city of Trabzon, Ermenihaber reported on Friday, citing the Turkish media.
The tombstone apparently belonged to the Makhokhyan family.
The Trabzon Water and Wastewater Department workers, who found it, informed the Turkish Commission for the Preservation of Antiquities and the Trabzon Museum management about the discovery.
The museum specialists, who carried out a research in the area, took the tombstone under protection, the Turkish media said.
