Armenia ready to welcome Tolmachevy sisters at Junior Eurovision
Armenia is ready to welcome Russian sisters Anastasia and Maria Tolmachevy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Anna Ohanyan, Head of the Public Relations and Digital Communications at the Public TV Company, told Panorama.am on Tuesday.
All the past winners of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest have been invited to the 20th edition of the contest in Yerevan this December.
However, RIA Novosti reported that the Tolmachevy sisters, who won the 2006 Junior Eurovision, have not been invited to Yerevan for the contest.
"The creative team of Junior Eurovision 2022 contacted all the past winners of the contest or the public broadcasters, including the producers of Junior Eurovision in Russia, in advance,” Ohanyan said.
“In response to the invitation, it was noted that the presence of the artists at the event was not appropriate. They were also offered to send a video message, which was also rejected," she explained.
The 20th Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan on 11 December.
