Minister: Armenia's trade with EEU countries soared in eight months
Armenia’s trade with the member states of the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) soared in the first eight months of this year, Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said on Thursday.
“In January-August 2022, Armenia’s trade with the EEU countries reached $2.778 billion, up by 74.1% from the year-earlier period,” the minister told parliamentary debates on the 2023 draft state budget.
Citing the official figures, he said Armenian exports to the EEU member states doubled to $1.1 billion in the eight months, while imports increased by 58.7%% to $1.67 billion.
Armenia’s trade with Russia reached $2.6 billion this year, marking a 71.7% year-on-year growth.
"At the same time, Armenian exports to Russia doubled, while imports from Russia grew by 55.3%," Kerobyan said.
