Iran sanctions 8 Canadian individuals, one entity
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday it sanctioned eight individuals and one entity over their support for terrorism, Al Mayadeen reported.
According to the statement, the identified individuals and the entity were blacklisted on grounds of their support for Mujahedin-e-Khalq terrorist organization (MEK) and for encouraging terrorism and violence against the Iranian people.
The statement further states that the identified people and entity are responsible for spreading false information to discredit Iran and have contributed to fueling cruel sanctions against the people of the country.
The blacklisted are prohibited from entering Iran, and their assets will be blocked on Iranian soil.
On October 31, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani slammed the EU and Canada for their provocative measures that contributed to the rise in tensions and riots in the Islamic Republic.
Kanaani slammed their interference and unconstructive, irresponsible acts, as he emphasized that they did not permit any leeway for peaceful criticism to be heard - by exploiting the excuse of democracy to ignite riots in Iran.
