One swine flu case confirmed in Armenia, health minister says
One case of H1N1 influenza, commonly known as swine flu, has been detected in Armenia so far, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told reporters at the parliament on Friday.
“The H1N1 subtype of the influenza A virus has been confirmed in one patient at this point,” the minister said. “He is receiving the necessary medical care and is in good condition.”
Avanesyan urged people to maintain vigilance, adding the virus strain is aggressive and may cause severe illness in young children and adults with chronic diseases.
