Catholicos Karekin II visits Jermuk
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on Saturday visited the spa town of Jermuk in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reported.
The delegation of the Mother See led by Catholicos Karekin II was met by the leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Vayots Dzor diocese, Archbishop Abraham Mkrtchyan, Vayots Dzor Governor Ararat Grigoryan and Mayor of Jermuk Vahagn Arsenyan in the town.
Karekin II offered prayers for peace in Armenia and Artsakh, the inviolability of the Armenian borders, the safe, peaceful and prosperous life of the Armenian people and the repose of the souls of those who fell defending the homeland at St. Gayane Church in Jermuk, where the Armenian religious leader was greeted by the local residents and military personnel.
Afterwards, the church delegation, accompanied by the local authorities, visited Jermuk Medical Center where the Catholicos of All Armenians met with the medical staff. After conveying his blessings, he expressed gratitude to them for their selfless service, due to which many lives were saved during the hostilities following Azerbaijan’s massive attack on Armenia on September 13.
