Expert: Challenges facing Armenia mostly emanate from Turkey and Azerbaijan
Presentation of two new books authored by Armenian experts on Turkey was held in Yerevan on Saturday.
The first part of the event presented the work Ideological Constitution of the “Era of Peace” (a review of Jirair Libaridian's book “Armenia-Turkey: Statehood, History, Politics”) by Professor Ruben Melkonyan, head of the YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies.
The second part of the presentation featured the collective monograph Key Targets of “Hate Speech”: Armenia and Armenians in Turkish and Azerbaijani Media in 2019-2021, authored by Turkologists Naira Poghosyan, Varuzhan Geghamyan, Mariam Melkonyan and Aren Petunts.
"We strongly believe that the major challenges facing our state and society can only be overcome through a science-based approach. Many of the current challenges emanate from Turkey and Azerbaijan,” Geghamyan said.
“Therefore, it is necessary to fully understand the scale and objectives we are dealing with on the other side of the border in order to effectively counter these challenges," he added.
