Farmers in Artsakh come under Azerbaijani gunfire
Azerbaijani troops opened sporadic fire at a group of farmers carrying out agricultural work near the village of Sarushen in Artsakh’s (Nagorno-Karabakh) Askeran region on Wednesday, the police said.
One of them, a 36-year-old man, reported the incident to the police, saying the shots were fired from nearby Azerbaijani army positions at around 11:40am.
No injuries were reported among the civilians.
Russian peacekeepers deployed in Artsakh were alerted about the incident.
The Artsakh authorities reported a similar incident on Saturday when the Azerbaijani military opened fire at two farmers engaged in agricultural work near the village of Khramort.
