Former MP: Azerbaijan under 'unprecedented' Int'l pressure
Azerbaijan is facing “unprecedented” pressure from the international community, says former opposition Hayastan bloc MP Artur Ghazinyan.
“Azerbaijan is under unprecedented international pressure posing a major threat to the Aliyev regime,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
“The French Senate resolution, statements of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee chair, recent statements of the Iranian parliament, Russian military presence in Artsakh, Iran’s latest massive military drills along the Arax River indicate that Azerbaijan has crossed the red lines with its brazen conduct,” the MP said.
The former MP highlighted Senator Bob Menendez's harsh criticism of the State Department officials for U.S. assistance to Azerbaijan at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Wednesday.
“I believe Menendez's statements will be at the core of the U.S. policies in the region in the future,” Ghazinyan added.
