Politician: Pashinyan wasn't even surprised by BBC reporter's question in 2020 interview
The deputy chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Armen Ashotyan, has called attention to Armenian Prime Minster Nikol Pashinyan’s interview to BBC one month before the 44-day war in Artsakh in 2020.
"Many of you may have forgotten Nikol’s interview with the BBC a month before the 44-day war. Stephen Sackur, the presenter of BBC HARDtalk, actually exposed that this man had come to power with promises of peace,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
“You came to power talking about finding a path to peace with Azerbaijan, however…” Ashotyan quoted the reporter as asking Pashinyan.
“However, he did not promise peace when he came to power, it's hard to find such statements in his public speeches. It was unclear to whom he promised the said peace at that time.
“Incidentally, he was not even surprised by the BBC journalist's question and did not deny his claims. In fact, on November 10, 2020, he partially delivered on his promise, signing a capitulation.
“For two years now, under the guise of an “era of peace”, he has been pushing ahead the promise he secretly made to his masters in 2018,” the politician stated.
