Fallen Armenian soldier's mother gives birth to baby boy
The parents of Vahe Karapetyan, an Armenian volunteer soldier killed in the 2020 war in Artsakh, have welcomed a baby boy.
The baby, Van, was born by cesarean section in Yerevan’s Erebouni Medical Center on November 17.
The baby and his 49-year-old mother, Anahit Mkrtchyan, feel well.
Mrs. Mkrtchyan says her fallen son always wanted to have a little sister or brother, adding one of his most cherished dreams has now come true.
“I want Van to be proud of his brother. I can’t put my feelings into words. Van has changed the moods in our family, making us to smile a little bit,” the woman told reporters on Tuesday.
Vahe Karapetyan was severely injured during battles for the Artsakh town of Shushi on 6 November. The hero soldier died in a Yerevan hospital on 9 November.
