RPA politician condemns protest against Russian leader in Yerevan
Armenian politician Eduard Sharmazanov, a senior member of the opposition Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), has condemned the protest against the Moscow-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and Russian President Vladimir Putin held in Yerevan on Wednesday.
He highlighted Russia’s role as the sole guarantor of security in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
“Are you holding a protest against Russia so that NATO or Turkey can take its place?” he wrote on Facebook.
“Don't forget that the sole guarantor of security for the Artsakh Armenians is Russia now. A protest against Russia is tantamount to a protest against Artsakh's security,” he stated.
