Opposition MP Aram Vardevanyan steps down
Aram Vardevanyan has announced his decision to step down as an MP of the largest opposition Hayastan faction in the Armenian parliament.
“Today, I am going to tender my resignation from the parliament. I have held an open and honest conversation about it with my colleagues," he wrote on Facebook.
Vardevanyan said it was a personal decision and added that he respected the steps and actions of his colleagues.
“I will support my fellow MPs and colleagues to the best of my ability,” he noted.
Vardevanyan announced plans to continue his career of a lawyer, adding "there is a lot of work to do”.
