Opposition MP reacts to war of words between Armenian, Azeri leaders
MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction has reacted to a war of words between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
"The Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders are competing to see who will further aggravate the situation, who will bring it to a standstill and who will make a statement threatening new hostilities,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
“The authorities have seemingly not yet handed over what they planned to, and instead of countering Azerbaijan's destructive policies and war plans, as well as applying external and defensive mechanisms, they are playing Aliyev’s game.
“The situation has become increasingly unpredictable, whereas the Armenian government is busy closing down/decorating the streets and setting up a Christmas tree in Republic Square ahead of time,” the MP said.
